The best CX programmes of 2026 no longer compete on how well they answer customers. They compete on how rarely customers need to ask.

What separated the winners

Four habits the strongest entries shared

  1. 1

    They removed a root cause.

They eliminated the reason for contact rather than handling it better.

  2. 2

    They proved impact three ways.

A customer measure, an operational measure and a commercial measure for the same initiative, each against a baseline.

  3. 3

    They were honest about setbacks.

A launch that buckled under demand, an NPS dip after a product was withdrawn. Naming the problem made the recovery credible.

  4. 4

    They ran at scale.

Months of live data across a full customer base, not pilot targets.

What held entries back. Weaker entries counted activity instead of outcomes, wrote results in the future tense, or called rules-based automation AI.
